Welcome to 11 Across -- the team site for the Mountain View Vikings Football Offensive Playbook. Familiarity with and frequency on these pages are what you'll need in order to pursue excellence - on the field, in the classroom, and in the community - to lead you through the summer and through our season towards the goal of winning on the field and succeeding off it.
Take a moment to review the different sections and pages of our offensive playbook. All of the pages are locked and require a site password only available to team members. Reach-out to Coach Scott to get access. Then you'll be able to Log-In at any time to access the playbooks, diagrams, and videos that are on those pages.
CHARACTER
Do the right thing. love others. Team before self.
Our CHARACTERcomes from integrity - to be the best version of yourself, always - and the determination to not quit until we have achieved our goals will be tested in many forms: in practice, in school, from ourselves, from our teammates, our coaches, or in games, from our opponents, or in our life circumstances. We believe developing CHARACTER involves tackling problems head-on, taking ownership over our choices and lives and learning from our mistakes, developing self-awareness and growing as problem-solvers and bold leaders. As such, we will actively eliminate 'Blaming, Complaining, and Defensiveness (BCD)' together as a team, as we learn and develop the character of championship-caliber teams and how to be excellent students and excellent athletes.
Commitment
Be Early. Be Here. Do your Job.
Be a family. Build the brotherhood. Be COMMITTED to playing as a family. We don't just play for ourselves, we play for our team and our families. COMMITMENT involves making our goals real priorities, of putting the the needs of the team first before the individual needs of each student-athlete, of putting the challenges of the classroom ahead of the challenges on the field. This bigger-than-just-me purpose will be reflected in the daily choices & habits each student-athlete makes on the field, in the classroom, with teammates, coaches, teachers and school staff. We understand this vision of COMMITMENT is built on respect. We understand that respect can never been demanded, but must always be developed. We learn to respect ourselves, our teammates, our coaches, teachers, school administrators & staff, and ultimately, our opponents. As a team, from Day 1 in March, until the final whistle in December, we will pursue victory together as a Family.
Competition
Relentless Effort. No BCD. Control your R.
What time is it? GAMETIME. And not just on Friday night. Always compete. In everything. It is always GAMETIME. Play to be first. Live to be excellent in everything. We believe in the fight to be first in everything we do, never settling for less than our best. COMPETITION is about leadership, about setting the standard, about bringing your best in everything. This involves drive and ambition to be great. And to make others great. Our team philosophy is built on COMPETITION, in going hard after everything we do. The investment, hard work, passion, high-energy and intensity - in school, in practice, and in games - fuels us. It also involves getting the most out of the opportunities and challenges that are before us. So COMPETITION means understanding that success doesn't happen from wishing it, but rather from working for it, pushing ourselves to maximize each moment.
